San Onofre Group Counseling
San Onofre School offers an opportunity for students to improve their social skills and connect with other students experiencing similar situations. Small groups consist of four to six students and the school counselor working together to improve communication, self-esteem, confidence, peer relations, conflict resolution, and problem solving skills. Based on student need, parent referral, or teacher referral students can participate in the following groups offered during the year: Deployment, Grief, Divorce, and Proactive Learners Group.
This is an excellent opportunity for your child to develop social skills to help improve relationships at school and at home. Groups will be called once a week, for 6-8 weeks, during the school day.
All student information will be kept confidential, with the exception of the student's name and attendance. Limits to confidentiality include instances where there is a possible danger to self or others. The counselor may consult with the teacher and other staff in order to best accommodate students within the group.
For more information on groups offered by the school counselor please contact Kelsey Finkle at (949) 325-6850 or at firstname.lastname@example.org. A permission slip from the counseling office will be sent home with students who are needing the extra support and is required for this 6-8 week group.
