San Onofre School was filled with pride and excitement during last Friday’s Flag Ceremony, as students, families, and staff gathered for a memorable celebration that highlighted student achievement and school success.
The event welcomed a special guest, Fallbrook Union Elementary School District (FUESD) Superintendent Monika Hazel, who joined a packed gymnasium of parents and students for the occasion.
The ceremony began with a respectful flag salute, followed by a moving and heartfelt performance by San Onofre students that set a celebratory tone for the morning. Students were then recognized for their academic accomplishments, showcasing the dedication and hard work taking place across campus.
Principal Joe Kniseley also took time to honor San Onofre students who participated in the 53rd Annual Don Dronon Games, where several students placed among the winners—an achievement that brought additional pride to the school community.
A highlight of the event came when Superintendent Hazel presented San Onofre School with a certificate recognizing its designation as an Educational Results Partnership (ERP) Honor Roll School. The recognition reflects the school’s strong academic performance and commitment to student success.
Adding to the excitement, Superintendent Hazel announced that students would be rewarded with an upcoming ice cream celebration. The news was met with cheers and enthusiasm from students, creating a joyful and unforgettable moment.
With a strong turnout and a spirit of celebration throughout the event, the ceremony was a powerful reflection of the San Onofre community’s commitment to excellence, appreciation, and student achievement.
